内容简介

In the third talk I will continue the discussion of grammatical features, focusing on two features used for emphasis: cleft sentences and dislocation. While the former can also occur in the more formal varieties of English, dislocation tends to appear in the more informal contexts as speakers place certain elements, typically noun phrases, at the beginning or the end of an utterance. I will also discuss the functions of these features, which include emphasis and identification.

在第三讲中,我将会继续讨论语法特征,重点介绍两个用于强调的特征:断句和错位。断句一般出现在更为正式的英语变体中,而在更非正式的语境中往往会用到错位,因为讲话者将某些元素(通常是名词短语)放在发言的开头或结尾。我还将讨论这些特征的作用,这些作用包括强调和识别。
